The Boulevard of Broken Dreams: Your Kitchen

So.  You want to make bakery that looks like the pictures in your books.  But nothing you do looks like the pictures in the books.  And it pisses you off:  You expect that because you’re using a recipe from a book deemed worthy of publication, and written by someone presumably qualified to do so, you’re going to get some pretty good results from this obviously thoughtful and well-tested recipe.  Well, no.
